They talk about how there are no jobs… and we need more jobs. Yet they are proposing the largest job killing bill I’ve ever seen. SOPA / The Protect IP Act are downright evil. What is the fastest growing industry in our country? Why. That would be the internet. Technology. Web design. Start-ups. What are these individuals going to do when websites get shut down for content they may contain? They are going to shut down. Avoid the risk. Thus KILLING JOBS. Lots of jobs. SO MANY JOBS. I can’t believe that such a bill is even getting support. This is the United States of America, where we are able to freely express ourselves. Yet our largest growing medium, the Internet, is going to be censored as the likes of China, Iran, and Syria? Countries known for being oppressive and controlling!
But. This is America. Home of the free and the brave and whatnot. It scares me that this is up for debate because I know it has the ability to get passed because of the lobbyists behind it. Corporate America has the government in its back pocket. It is getting to terrifying limits these days.
So what if I find a picture of Dean Winchester on the internet and share it with others so they can bask in his beauty? My site should be shut down for that? The greatest form of flattery is imitation. They won’t realize until it is too late that they have screwed themselves over. The content sharing on the internet is a large part of the popularity they see.
As someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Advertising, I have never been so outraged in my entire existence. This bill is virtually going to destroy the internet everyone has worked so hard to cultivate. This 2-way conversation that has reshaped the industry. It’s going to cut off our communication. Our opinions. Strangling our rights.
This rant is all over the place. I’m so angry I can’t think straight.

Before it’s too late. Because these bills are strong. These bills have power. Protect your freedom to express yourself. Protect our rights.
Protect our Internet.
